Thanksgiving Blessings

You know, Thanksgiving is such a wonderful time of the year as the season’s change [well, at least in some places] and we are given the opportunity to reflect on all the good things God has done and given us. It’s a time when we are reminded of God’s gracious blessings and steadfast faithfulness in our lives. A time to enjoy the fruits of His promises and His hope of even greater joy to come as we live moment by moment in the light of His love. And, ultimately, a time to give Him thanks for His graciousness towards each of us is so many ways.

Isn’t that a wonderful thought of how we should live our lives each day of the year, too? Keeping our focus on Jesus and the blessings He bestows on us daily will not only fill our heart with joy and add a smile to our face but enable us to better bless others as God intends while He faithfully works bringing Heaven to earth a little bit more and more each day.

The verses below so warmly illustrate this truth and the words used to describe God’s blessing bring to life His care, nature and love in such a tender way that we hope as you read them you will not only let them encourage you but let them sink into your heart, mind and soul inspiring you to share the blessing.

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons to bless the people of Israel with this special blessing: ‘May the LORD bless you and protect you. May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you. May the LORD show you his favor and give you his peace.’ Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the people of Israel in my name, I myself will bless them.” Numbers 6: 22-27

Finally, Leanne and I hope and pray that you have a happy Thanksgiving and that the picture painted by the verse below will be a reality lived out by each of us during the season of giving thanks to God for all the good He has done and will do. :)

There, in the presence of the LORD your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the LORD your God has blessed you. Deuteronomy 12:7
